Times & Seasons: Celebrating the Journey
By admin / July 3, 2026 / No Comments / Uncategorized
This week has been especially meaningful as we’ve continued sharing the heart behind Splashes of Red.
Every step of this journey reminds me that God often brings beauty from places we never imagined. Thank you for walking this road with me.
❤️ The Cover Reveal
Earlier this week, I had the joy of sharing the official cover of Splashes of Red.
While it’s exciting to finally reveal the artwork, what means even more is the story behind it.
Splashes of Red was born from one of the most difficult seasons of my life. After our three-year-old daughter, Abby, went to heaven, I searched for a book that could help my children understand grief, funerals, heaven, and the hope we have in Christ.
I couldn’t find the book our family needed.
So, with God’s help, I wrote it.
My prayer is that this story becomes a gentle companion for families navigating loss—offering honest conversations, biblical hope, and the reminder that God is present even in our deepest sorrow.
❤️ Meet Abby
This week I also introduced you to the little girl who inspired this entire journey.
Before there was a book, there was Abby.
She filled our home with laughter, curiosity, and joy. Although her time with us was far too short, her life continues to point us toward God’s faithfulness.
Writing Splashes of Red has never been about staying in the pain of loss. It has always been about sharing the hope that carried our family through it.
My prayer is that every family who reads this book will discover that same hope.
Five Truths Every Grieving Child Needs
One of the conversations we shared this week centered on five truths that can help us care for grieving children:
• Children need honest words.
• Children grieve differently than adults.
• Children need permission to ask questions.
• Children need to know their feelings are okay.
• Children need real hope.
These truths became the foundation for Splashes of Red.
Children don’t need perfect answers.
They need loving adults who will listen, speak truth with compassion, and remind them that God remains close to the brokenhearted.
If this message encourages you, I hope you’ll share these truths with someone who loves or cares for children.
📦 A Very Special Milestone
This week brought another moment I’ll never forget.
The very first printed copies of Splashes of Red arrived.
Holding this book in my hands for the first time was both emotional and deeply humbling.
Every page represents countless prayers, tears, revisions, and God’s faithful provision throughout this journey.
Seeing it become a real book is a beautiful reminder that God can use even our deepest heartbreak to bring hope to others.
I can’t wait for the day it reaches the hands of families who need its message.
Check out the video of me unboxing the first printed copies.
📚 Pre-Orders Are Open
If you haven’t already reserved your copy, I’d be honored if you would pre-order Splashes of Red.
Every pre-order helps introduce this book to more families, churches, counselors, schools, grandparents, and caregivers who may one day need its message of hope.
